______________________RESPECTFUL RULES_________________________
1. Be Nice
2. Be Safe
What this might sound and look like at daycare:
"Please use walking feet"
- no running inside
"Sit Down or Get Down"
- we will sit on furniture except tables and where it's inappropriate
- no standing or jumping
"We touch our friends nice"
- not hitting, pushing, splapping or throwing things at our friends
- notdoing this may result in an immediate Time Out*
"What's on the Ground, Stays on the Ground"
- mainly pertains to outdoor play
- fallen snacks, dirt, toys, etc. will not go in our mouths
- If it's not food, it doesn't go into our mouths.
-Kiddos are encouraged to explore and get dirty; I will do my best to let me experience the world but safely.
"Use Kind Words"
- It is important that we use our words to communicate with friends and others.
Sometimes we will be flustered but must use our words and try to be "kind" and refrain from hitting/pinching/biting.* Sharing or asking for items will be hard for some, and I hope we can work together or those items may be gone for awhile.
- No foul language will be allowed
TIME OUTS/ SIT AND WATCH
Child(ren) will be shown/modeled/reminded of expected behaviors and expected to follow all rules When conflict arises a child has been given three “seconds” to follow a rule after being verbally reminded of what is expected or asked. If the child does not correct the problem or do what is asked the child may be given what most call a timeout. These ‘times’ require the child to remain in a designated spot (chair or wall spot) until a certain time has passed; they may be removed from children or asked to “sit and watch” friends showing ‘nice/kind’ behavior. This is usually within a couple minutes or after the child in done crying and can communicate and comply with me and my expectations. Multiple offenses may result in more time or removal from other ‘friends.’ If discipline or the safety of others becomes a problem, I can and may ask you to remove your child(ren) from my daycare.
(as stated in contract; see contact tab)
FYI - it is against the law, as a state licensed child care provider, to spank a child. It is also against the law for me to force a child to take medication.
